Never before on the market! Discover a Hawaiian-chic oasis nestled on the waterfront with its very own boat dock. Designed by Piero Patri and Bud Whisler and built by the original owner, this property has never before been on the market and offers a rare opportunity to enjoy a unique lifestyle. Boasting four bedrooms and four bathrooms, this spacious retreat spans nearly 3000 square feet, ensuring ample room for relaxation and entertainment. Plus, Sliding glass doors grace nearly every room, allowing natural light to flood the interiors and providing easy access to the captivating outdoor spaces. The layout was thoughtfully considered with the common spaces at the core of the house, the primary suite tucked away on one side and the remaining bedrooms positioned on the other side of the house. The primary suite is a haven, complete with high ceilings, an office and views of the water. On the other side of the house are two bedrooms (one is extra large - two bedrooms had been combined to make one big one) and two full bathrooms. Additionally, a separate bedroom and bathroom offer the perfect guest or au pair accommodation. Expansive outdoor area for entertaining and enjoying the picturesque canal views, along with the vibrant birdlife that lives on the water.
San Rafael was founded by the Spanish in 1817, when Vicente Francisco de Sarría established Mission San Rafael Arcángel, initially as an asistencia (sub-mission). San Rafael Arcángel was upgraded to full mission status in 1822, a month before Alta California declared independence from Spain as part of Mexico. Following the American Conquest of California, the community of San Rafael incorporated as a city in 1874.
